Cigna Coverage Availability & Fees
Cigna offers a number of different dental insurance plans, so you need to look at the details of your unique policy to find out how it works in various situations. In the meantime, we can give a generalized overview of the coverage that you might enjoy:
- Preventive care: Most Cigna plans completely cover the cost of basic preventive care, including X-rays, exams, and cleanings.
- Basic services: Fillings, non-surgical tooth extractions, and other basic services may be up to 80% covered.
- Major services: Crowns, certain types of oral surgery, and other major procedures may be around 50% covered.
Your plan may also have a deductible, a waiting period before you can receive certain types of coverage, and an annual maximum. Your annual maximum is a yearly limit on how much Cigna will pay for approved services. With Cigna, that number might be anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000.
Because we are in-network with Cigna, we are in an ideal position to help you get as much value as possible from your yearly maximum. Not only do we have a contract with Cigna that controls prices, but we can also strategically schedule major services. In some cases, we are able to do so in a way that allows you to use two annual maximums rather than just one.
